The USBPc provides a simple solution to a very problematic mobile occurrence. Sensitive USB data systems in mobile installations can lose communications when a vehicle starting system causes a severe negative voltage transient that ripples through the USB power supply causing them to lock up in logic confusion until power is completely cycled to clear the corruption.
The USBPc device monitors the battery voltage for engine crank, signified by a sudden and significant voltage drop, sometimes to 7.5V caused by a weak battery and the starter motor power up surge.
When detected, the unit will interrupt the USB +5V source and the +Battery source to the USB Hub for 10 seconds, allowing the USB Hub connected devices to clear from any possible power disruption and re-numerate with the host USB port.
